The Fallen Ones

Sometimes the darkness

holds you to its bosom,

soothes you with lullabies

forgotten,

unsung,

In them lie the words

no preacher ever preached

the forgotten love

of the beast

embracing God

in this darkness. Fallen angels cry

into wings

broken,

tattered

like the robes of Christ;

and yet we fear,

we count our beads,

our palms bleed,

our sins hide

in boxes, confessions,

the eyes we use

not God's, ours,

selfish wishes

seeping,

beating,

at the gates of heaven,

broken wings

falling,

refusing to embrace

the darkness,

our bosom

empty,

still thinking we can fly.

Embracing the darkness; fallen angels crying; still thinking we can fly.........so many word combinations that conger up images. The St. Louis church photo at the top is beautiful.

Here goes the first one: are you afraid of the darkness?

SoulaBee profile image

SoulaBee Hub Author 3 years ago

Answer to your first question. No, I'm not afraid of literal darkness, nor am I afraid of any darkness. However I do see much of humanity as being afraid of these non literal darknesses.

ripplemaker profile image

ripplemaker Level 6 Commenter 3 years ago

There is truth in that...we fear the pain and this non literal darkness seems like a deep gaping hole that one will fall into.

2nd question: When you speak of fallen ones, what do you see in your vision?

SoulaBee profile image

SoulaBee Hub Author 3 years ago

Yes, ripplemaker, very true.

Answer to second question. The fallen ones I see as two different aspects. The first would be the archangel (who was truly, I believe, in a catch 22) that refused to bow down to the people and instead held God as the ultimate supreme and was punished by God for doing so. The second are the people, who say they love God and all that is good yet do not follow his bidding. They've fallen because they are really the same as the fallen angel. Yet not only do they deny him (the archangel), but they hide the fact of their commonalities with him. They hide and find ways to cover up their evils, if you will, but then act like they are almighty and worthy. The fallen ones are the ones afraid of the darkness, the ones that refuse to embrace it and accept its existance and their part in its existance.

Hi Soulabee, thanks for sharing your thoughts.  This helps me get to know you more.  :-)

3rd question: I was struck by your last phrase "still thinking we can fly" do you believe there is hope for these fallen ones?

SoulaBee profile image

SoulaBee Hub Author 3 years ago

Hi ripplemaker. Sure thing. I'm rather enjoying answering your questions. They're good ones!

Yes. People don't have to suffer the same fate of the archangel despite his purity and honesty, which unfortunately were what brought him to his fate. They (people) are lucky that way, I suppose. People need to hold themselves accountable for their actions. They need to learn from their mistakes as opposed to shrugging them off and seeing how far those mistakes can take them. They cannot expect true and eternal love and beauty, in this life or any other lives to come, if they go on the way they do. God helps those who help themselves in reguards to goodness, fairness, honesty, and love.

Hi SoulaBee, I've enjoyed reading your thoughts on the matter.  And when people read your poem and read your insights then they would have a greater glimpse of what you want to express in the poem!  Alright!

Hmmm...I'm glad to know you believe there is hope for the "fallen ones."  I would like to believe that the "fallen ones" have all the goodness and love deep within them (for that is our essence, our being) to come forth and shine. It may not happen immediately.  It may seemingly be a painful journey but they are all precious in the eyes of the One who Created Us and Loved Us.  And that knowing will help us when we fall and encourage us to rise again.

Yes, we can fly again...

Thanks so much.  I've enjoyed this exchange and hope to have many more with you along life's journey.  Much love and light to you my friend.  Let us keep on..helping each other find our light within and remember our divinity.  Hugs...

Yes, ripplemaker, you are so right, we all have the goodness and love within us. I've enjoyed your questions and answering them. Thanks for taking your time out to wonder and explore with me. You make some terrific ripples. Glad to glide along them with you any day. Many hugs.

God has been talking to me on this subject. We are the 1/3 angels that were cast out of heaven for following Lucifer's voice instead of God, our Creator and true Father's voice. We fell to earth and have had to live in these physical bodies, in the Hell of our own making, until we turn from Satan's lies and false, empty promises, admitting to ourselves that we were/are wrong and surrender our wills reconciling and turning back to God refusing to hear any other voice but His in our heads, filtering out all the others. Because if you think about it haven't we listened to the devil long enough, trying everything he's offerred us and believing his lies rather than trying things God's Way and believing what He's been trying to tell us all along? We need to ask ourselves why we can believe what the devil says to us about ourselves but we CHOOSE the hardest way, our way, instead of simply believing what God is trying to tell us about remembering WHO WE ARE to Him. His beloved, lost sheep, that He misses so terribly and came down, being also born of flesh so He could understand what we were going through Himself. He came down to die in front of us so we would know and believe, be convinced, to remember how very much He still loves us and wants us to choose Him over Lucifer for our own good and happiness because He knows absolutely what is going to make each and everyone of us happy and satisfied forever. He loves us so much still and simply wants us to decide to choose Him over Satan and just choose to go back home with Him where we will be given all the love and true happiness we can stand! Satan will end up all alone and miserable for eternity, separated from His Father and Creator which is the true definition of hell. That is why you never know when you may be entertaining Angels. Then when you remember who you are, one of many angels that were created in the very beginning to love and serve God, living with Him forever and always as His little children, loved and well taken care of, individual and special in His eyes. Each of us unique, different but all loved and valued the same, so as not to create in us a jealous, envious, low self esteem which is the original lie that birthed all the suffering in this world. You need to make a choice. Who are you going to spend eternity with? There are only two choices and the answer is obvious. All you have to do is believe by taking God's Word for who you are instead of believing what the Devil has been telling you about yourself. If you listen you will hear and recognize the voice of the True God, which is your awesome Lord and gentle, most loving Master. Then you can stop living in hell, (misery), and you'll finally be able to go on and accept the good truth about yourself, which is quite and literally, HEAVEN because we were forgiven even before we sinned, we just could'nt believe He still loved us anyway.

If you want to learn how to listen and actually hear, (understand), God email me at: anotherangelofgodredeemed@gmail.com. and ask me. God speaks to me everyday now, all day long. I stand amazed and will share my personal, awesome testimony with anyone simply willing to listen because you realize you need change in your life.

I am still praying for understanding of the things of God. Our Father wants you to get to know Him. So start talking to Him and He is Faithful to listen and answer your cries for justice.

What a wonderful hub!!! Beautiful!

The true meaning of hell is to never reunite with you creator. To wonder around in darknest. Theres no pitts or fire. The greeks spoke of fire and imortality. And being punished for your wrong doings. It was the teachings of plato who brought this to surface. Way before jesus was in the picture, a very long time! It wasnt till the second century that christians started mixing greek mythology into there beliefs. Saying it was the word of god. If you really take the time to search into this. You will find out that god never spoke of immortality. Or afterlife...
